The domestic section steel and welded pipe market performance showed signs of warming up during the month with the arrival of the peak season, and the demand from downstream industries recovered gradually, though remained far from strong. Though prices of raw materials fluctuated frequently, they maintained at the high level and the cost support for finished steel kept strong. Boosted by the high production costs, steel mills remained eager to lift prices. However, the market performance of seamless pipe continued to remain unsatisfactory dragged by the soft demand as well as downstream customers' cautious purchasing attitudes. In the meantime, the market inventory kept reducing with the reduced supply from steel mills.
