    1. Market Highlights

    Supported by slight demand recovery from downstream industries, wire rod and rebar prices in Chinese major regions moved up by around RMB100/t (USD14/t) in September. Steel mills faced thin profit this month but remained relatively active in production.Asian Metal Copyright .Asian Metal Copyright Stocks in major regions continued to decrease during this time. Due to the depreciation of Chinese yuan, wire rod export prices from China went down by around USD20/t this month.

    In the international market, wire rod and rebar prices in some Asian countries such as Malaysia and India showed some signs of halting falling this month, supported by firm production cost. However, the demand from downstream industries failed to pick up obviously.
