1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by softened demand from auto industry under the epidemics, CRC prices in major regions went down by around RMB100/t (USD15/t) in April. Steel mills' production for CRC operated regularly during this time. Encouraged by reduced production from steel mills especially private steel mills, HGI coil prices in major regions recorded a rise of RMB50-100/t (USD7-15/t) in April, while the demand from home appliance industry also softened under the epidemics. Due to the depreciation of RMB and softening demand from overseas market, CRC and HGI coil export prices showed different declines this month.
In the international market, CRC prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India as well as HGI coil prices in India all witnessed a downward trend this month due to softening market performance and limited demand from downstream industries.
