1. Market Highlights
Though prices of raw materials moved up this month, CRC and HGI coil prices in most regions did not show big changes due to the softening demand from downstream industries before the Chinese New Year holiday. Some end users became a little active in replenishing stocks before the holiday, worrying a sharp price rise in early February . However, many end users preferred to hold cautious attitudes towards the coming market . Most steel mills remained active in production but some in North China would cut production due to the pollution curbs during the winter Olympics . Exporters gained some confidence in the coming market seeing the sharp increase of raw materials' prices all over the world.
