Prices of primary lead ingot reduced with fluctuation last month, and the market witnessed increased deals as lead acid battery plant purchased actively at the end of a year. The market saw decreased supply in Hunan, Yunnan and Henan as some smelters conducted maintenance on production lines and declined output
In December, the supply of lead concentrate decreased in a whole in domestically as producer in North China stopped production at the end of December considering the cold weather. And the market saw increased deals as smelters purchased actively to build stocks for winter, leading to the decreased TCs of domestic lead concentrate. At the same time, owing to the tight supply of imported lead concentrate and the needs of smelters to build stocks, TCs of imported lead concentrate decreased slightly.
Prices of secondary lead ingot went down with fluctuation in general following the prices of primary lead ingot. The supply of secondary lead in the market went up as some smelters in Anhui and Jiangxi resumed production under good consumption for secondary lead ingot and the increased supply of recycled battery. The spot market saw increased deals in general in December under the flat prices movements.
