1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by the limited demand from downstream industries and continuously falling prices of raw materials, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese major regions accelerated the decline and recorded a decrease by RMB600-800/t (USD94-125/t) this month. Traders lost confidence in the coming market and showed no intention to hold stocks. Steel mills had to cut prices for December production and provide discount to customers to attract orders. Due to sharp price decline in domestic market, Chinese steel mills remained active in export and cut export prices again and again to promote sales this month, while overseas customers kept watching the market and only placed orders when the decline slowed down gradually.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India edged down gradually due to soft demand and falling prices of imported HRC.
