Prices of section steel and steel pipe went down sharply in major Chinese domestic markets during the month. The sharp price decline of raw materials weakened market participants' confidence to a large extent. The demand from downstream industries remained insufficient. Besides, end users held back from purchasing seeing the continuous price decline. Both steel mills and traders face heavy sales pressure. Though prices showed signs of rebounding boosted by the national loosening capital policy late this month, participants still showed little confidence in the market prospect.
