1. Market Highlights
Chinese antimony product prices stopped declining and went up in June 2021. Supported by tight supply of raw material and slight increase of demand in the international market, Chinese antimony product market saw slightly more deals and suppliers raised their prices to test the market situation. Antimony ingot prices stood at RMB50,000/t (USD7,725/t) and even rebounded to RMB58,000/t in late June in the domestic market. China's import volume of antimony concentrate was limited in June 2021 and domestic miners' output for antimony concentrate also stood at a low level restricted by environmental inspections; meanwhile, domestic antimony product plants generally kept low operating rates affected by tight supply of raw material. All these factors supplied some support for antimony product prices to go up during June 2021. However, antimony trioxide deals increased sharply in June 2021 MOM as some consumers refilled stocks owing to limited stocks in hand.
The international antimony product market witnessed tight spot supply in June 2021 due to continued supply shortage of containers and high ocean freights. As some consumers intended to refill stocks before the summer break, the international antimony product market saw more deals during June 2021, which stimulated prices of antimony ingot and antimony trioxide to rise slightly. In addition, China's imports of antimony concentrate from Russia, Tajikistan and other countries were still insufficient.
