    1 Market Highlights
    1.1 Prebaked anode

    In May, Chinese prebaked anode prices went up further with firm demand and rising production cost. Producers increased production because of the strong demand.

    1.2 Pet coke

    Pet coke prices moved up as a whole in May despite a slight retreat in late May, because of the limited supply and strong demand.

    1.3 Graphite electrode

    Graphite electrode prices in China moved up in May because of the strong demand and increased cost. In late May, RP and HP graphite electrode prices reduced after cost reduced.

    1.4 CPC

    CPC producers in Northwest China cut production in May for the carbon emission control. CPC prices moved up in May.

    1.5 Coal tar pitch

    For short supply of coal tar, many coal tar pitch producers cut production in May, leading to price jump in May.
