1. Market Highlights
Prices of antimony products fluctuated upwards in the Chinese market in December 2020. Chinese antimony concentrate suppliers raised their prices of the material to explore the market situation against backdrops of low operating rate of domestic miners and limited imports of the material from overseas countries before the Spring Festival. Antimony ingot prices went up by nearly RMB3,000/t in December 2020 and antimony ingot producers were continuously bullish about the market outlook during the month and held back from selling owing to low operating rate of the material, tight supply of raw material and the continuous appreciation of RMB. Meanwhile, Antimony trioxide prices kept firm during the month supported by higher antimony ingot prices, but most downstream consumers just waited on the sidelines and placed limited orders. In addition, the domestic ethylene glycol antimony market came into a stalemate with stable prices owing to soft demand. Driven by the increase of antimony products prices in the domestic market, export prices of Chinese antimony products went up continuously in December 2020, but most overseas customers just waited on the sidelines affected by the Christmas Day holiday.
