In domestic market, given the scarce deals, upstream producers had to lower prices in order to reduce stock. However, spot stocks of high grade silicon metal remained at a low level. For chemical grade silicon metal, the prices increased a bit in early December, and remained steady until the end of December. In export market, deals became fewer following the approaching Christmas and New Year holidays, and the prices dropped with decreased prices from producers.
