As most Chinese consumers already finished their purchasing plans before the National Day holiday, the Chinese antimony product market was generally quiet in October 2020 with both upstream and downstream market players waiting on the sidelines. Considering the continuous increase of antimony product prices, end users took a strong wait-and-see attitude towards the market outlook and were reluctant to make replenishments. Upstream suppliers still kept their prices of antimony product firm owing to tight supply of raw material.
Affected by firm prices of antimony ingot, Chinese antimony concentrate suppliers slightly raised their prices in October 2020 to explore the market condition; however, antimony ingot producers were cautious about purchasing antimony concentrate owing to limited transactions of antimony ingot in the spot market. In addition, owing the spread of Covid-19, overseas antimony concentrate miners kept low operating rate in October 2020, leading to tight supply in the market.

The demand for Chinese antimony trioxide from overseas customers was also weak during October 2020, but Chinese exporters had to raise their export prices to avoid risks owing to higher prices of raw material and the depreciation of USD. In addition, overseas customers just purchased Chinese antimony trioxide based on orders during October 2020.
