In domestic market, the prices of metallurgical silicon metal increased following the hugely increased prices of chemical grade silicon metal, but the deals remains relatively scarce. For chemical grade silicon metal, producers lifted the prices hugely because of insufficient supply, and the price gap between silicon metal 4-2-1 and silicon metal 3-3-03 widened to over RMB1,000/t (USD147/t), which became much bigger than usual. In export market, the prices went up massively due to decreased exchange rate of USD against RMB.
