1. Market Highlights
In August, Chinese manganese flake producers mostly had no inventory pressure and strongly held back from selling and kept prices steady. However, affected by weak downstream demand in both domestic market and overseas market, transaction prices for the material didn't change notably . Chinese and overseas steel mills invited a new round of bids and European customers came back from the summer vacation after mid-August, and export trader made enquiries actively at the end of August, resulting in slowly increasing manganese flake prices . Prices for manganese briquette and manganese lump went up accordingly.
In August, export prices for Chinese mangnanese flake moved up notably as manganese flake prices rose in Chinese market and U.S . dollar depreciated significantly.
The summer vacation in Europe and America ended in August and demand improved slowly at the end of the month. Driven by rising export prices for Chinese manganese flake, prices in European and American markets went upward.
