1. Market Highlights
Prices of CRC and HGI coil in Chinese leading markets continued on the upward trend in early September while they fell back gradually in middle and late September due to lower raw materials' prices, ending the six-month upward trend. However, steel mills kept active in CRC and HGI coil production for higher profit compared with other steel products like rebar and HRC. Most steel mills like Baowu Group, Ansteel, Bengang Steel and Shougang Steel further increased CRC and HGI coil prices for October production. However, most traders became cautious in replenishing stocks before the National Day holiday considering the large price gap between CRC and HRC.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil market in many Asian countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and India continued to hike supported by higher production cost and demand recovery. Chinese CRC and HGI coil export prices continued to increase this month but showed some signs of falling back at the end of the month.
