1. Market Highlights
Antimony products generally kept increasing amid stability both at home and abroad in August 2020. As for antimony concentrate, prices went up slightly in China as Chinese antimony concentrate mines' operating rate dropped YOY and antimony ingot prices went up; however, most customers had no intention to purchase antimony concentrate owing to low operating rate of their own products . Meanwhile, Chinese importers still imported antimony concentrate from Russia, Tajikistan and Bolivia and limitations on importing from Burma, Vietnam and other nearby countries still existed as ports in these countries were still not fully reopened . Generally speaking, China still imported antimony concentrate in small volumes in batches in August 2020.
As for antimony ingot, prices went up in China in August 2020. Chinese antimony ingot kept low operating rate and kept their prices firm with reluctance to sell the material although they still held some stocks in hand . But mainstream transaction prices of antimony ingot increased stably as consumers kept high operating rates of their products and still purchased antimony ingot based on orders . Affected by higher prices in China, most Chinese exporters kept their export prices firm in order to avoid risks caused by the depreciation of USD, stimulating export prices of the material to rise; however, the Chinese export market saw soft demand as overseas customers just waited on the sidelines with reluctance to make replenishments duirng the summer break.
As for antimony trioxide, prices rose slightly in China in August 2020 supported by higher prices of raw material antimony ingot. Chinese antimony trioxide producers were among fierce competition in concluding deals as they kept high operating rates and consumers still refilled stocks based on orders . In view of higher prices in China and the depreciation of USD, Chinese antimony trioxide exporters had to slightly raise their export prices to avoid risks . Prices of Chinese antimony trioxide increased slightly in Europe and America owing to higher import prices of the material in spite of limited enquiries.
As for ethylene glycol antimony, Chinese suppliers were among fierce competition in concluding deals owing to high operating rates and sufficient supply. Nevertheless, prices of ethylene glycol antimony went up slightly as a result of higher prices of antimony trioxide . Most end users just made replenishments in accordance with orders and didn't raise their demand for ethylene glycol antimony.
