    1. Market Highlights

    In June, downstream customers only purchased on orders, leaving limited transactions for ferrochrome; and thus sellers had to cut prices for sales. Prices for HC ferrochrome, LC ferrochrome and silicochromium all trended down this month.

    Domestic demand for chrome metal was still soft in June, so producers reduced their prices slightly for sales promotion. Export prices for chrome metal also edged down due to weak overseas demand.

    This month, owing to tight supply of chrome ore, overseas sellers held offers firm even though downstream customers only purchased from hand to mouth; CIF China prices of chrome ore were firm. The prices for chrome ore in Chinese ports edged down with sellers cutting prices amid sluggish spot transactions.
