The prices mostly remained stable in May as spot stocks kept limited and demand stayed weak. However, the prices started becoming weak as producers in Southern China started resuming production in late May. For chemical grade silicon metal, the prices kept in downward trend as supply stayed sufficient, and upstream producers became pessimistic about future market. In export market, trading volume of most of exporters decreased hugely, and export prices remained stable because of firm purchase cost.
