1. Market Highlights
Antimony prices moved down in March. Before mid this month, the resumption rate of producers and end consumers was insufficient although the epidemic in China was basically under control, and downstream plants put off resumption due to weak demand, therefore, suppliers had to cut prices for sales . Then after mid-March, China's exports of antimony decreased constantly affected by the epidemic in foreign countries . Overseas consumers refused to purchase substantially due to production restriction and bearish outlook . The export market was quite sluggish accompanying with US stock crackdown and shutdown in Europe and the US . Therefore, antinomy prices continued decreasing the latter half of this month.
The international market witnessed spares transactions before mid-March as most overseas buyers finished purchases before March. Then with COVID-19 outbreaking in the world, most European and American plants halted production and put off payments or cancelled orders, leaving sporadic deals . End customers were bearish about market outlook and postpones purchases . Therefore, Chinese antimony exporters had to reduce prices due to weak overseas demand . The antimony export market was quiet in March.
