From early February, panicked by the outbreak of coronavirus in China, tremendous orders from foreign buyers flushed into the market as they are concerned about the supply of silicon metal in China. Those export orders drove the prices to a much higher level. For Chemical grade silicon metal, because of problematic transportation caused by coronavirus, market sees very few deals. Therefore, the prices of Chinese chemical grade silicon metal only increased moderately. In export market, the prices increased following increased purchase cost and fast growing orders.
