1. Market Highlights
With the approaching of Chinese New Year holiday, wire rod and rebar market in China tended to run steadily this month and prices did not show big changes. Stocks in many regions began to move up from the middle of January. However, most big steel mills would produce regularly during the holiday.
In the international market, steel mills in Malaysia and India kept increasing wire rod and rebar prices and showed more confidence in the coming market. Encouraged by this, steel mills in China lifted wire rod and rebar export prices accordingly.
