Prices of both non-grain oriented electrical steel and grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China were generally stable during this month. With the arrival of the Spring Festival, downstream customers left the market for the holiday in succession and traders did not adjust their prices since there was little demand. Major steel mills such as Baosteel, WISCO and Ansteel all announced to raise their list prices of NGO electrical steel produced in February. Because of the higher purchase cost and weak customer demand, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles.
