1. Market Highlights
Prices for HRC and steel plate did not change obviously during the month, and the market performed stagnantly since end users retreated from the market in succession for the Spring Festival holiday. Not being confident of the market prospect, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories and eager to conclude deals, and that's why prices for HRC decreased nationwide in the third week of this month. HRC producers were less active in producing late this month seeing the declining signal. In the meantime, the overall supply for steel plate remained low as producers either slowed down or halted production.
Meanwhile, prices for HRC and steel plate went up in most other Asian markets during the month, amid participants' wait-and-see attitudes.
