Prices of both non-grain oriented electrical steel and grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China saw a downward trend during this month on weak customer demand. Major steel mills such as Baosteel and WISCO announced to keep their list prices of NGO electrical steel produced in October stable. The market sales performance continued to be unsatisfying as demand from downstream customers did not become better although September was the traditionally high season. Because of the high purchase cost and weak customer demand, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles.
