In August, many metallurgical customers in North China purchased collectively, and producers in South China had a meeting of raising prices. The prices of silicon metal start increasing since early August, and become stable by the end of last month. The prices of chemical grade silicon metal only increased slightly due to weak demand. In export market, the prices increased accordingly with higher purchase cost, but buyers overseas didn't accept the prices. It concluded scarce deals in August.
