Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China were generally stable during this month, while those of grain oriented electrical steel saw a downward trend on weak customer demand. Major steel mills such as Baosteel, WISCO and Shougang Steel announced to increase their list prices of NGO electrical steel produced in September. Downstream customers were just purchasing materials for urgent need amid the traditionally low season and the market sales performance did not become better. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles and the market inventory was relatively low.
