Demand for black silicon carbide was generally weak in July. As the central environmental protection inspection group stationed in Gansu on July 12, nearly ten local production companies stopped production. Affected by the production suspension, the inventory of the first grade product in the market was basically used out, and prices rose slightly. Due to the poor demand of steel mills and the low price of ferrosilicon, the spot market of second grade and third grade silicon carbide was full and prices decreased.
Demand for green silicon carbide was generally stable and demand for F240-800 and JIS2000 micro powder was strong. Demand exceeded supply, so prices continued to rise. The demand for regular grade sand and JIS1500 was weak, and prices had a slightly decreasing trend.
The export market entered the slack season and demand declined significantly. Western countries were on the summer break and most of the purchases were completed in June. The orders in July dropped significantly. First grade black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide JIS2000 were relatively popular, and the demand for other specifications declined significantly compared with that of the same period of last year.
