1. Market Highlights
Prices of CRC and HGI coil in Chinese leading markets did not show many changes in early and middle July but they rebounded firmly in late July, supported by the supply reduction from most steel mills. The demand from downstream industries remained sluggish and had few chances to grow in August after the U.S. announced to collect extra tariffs on 300 billion dollars of goods from China in the late July. Anyhow, the output reduction might continue to prevent CRC and HGI coil prices from dropping fast in the coming month. In the international market, China's export prices for CRC and HGI coil increased slightly and those in other Asian countries like Vietnam continued to fall on bad market performance. Taking all factors into consideration, insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil would try to stabilize in August.
