1. Market Highlights
Prices for welded pipe rose slightly in major Chinese domestic markets during the month, following the upward price trend of raw materials such as iron ore and steel billet. However, prices for seamless pipe failed to go up dragged by the shrinking demand, and they fluctuated frequently during the month. Reporting narrowed profit margin, producers were less active in producing, and the overall market inventory ran on a relatively low level. Considering the poor market performance, insiders think that the price for steel pipe might go down slightly in August.
