1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel went down in major Chinese domestic markets during the month due to the poor market performance, despite the obvious price increase of steel raw materials. On the one hand, the downstream demand remained insufficient under the gloomy economy, while on the other hand, end users only purchased according to urgent needs and refused to place large orders seeing the downward price trend, both leading to a dim market. In the meantime, prices for section steel also went down slightly in other Asian markets during the month. Insiders foresee another price decline for section steel in June.
