1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel pipe went down in major Chinese domestic markets during the month. The rigid demand from downstream industries remained insufficient under the gloomy economy. Besides, end users were cautious about supplementing inventories and only purchased according to urgent needs, both leading to a dim market. Complaining low profits or even losses caused by rising prices of raw materials but decreasing selling prices for steel pipe, producers were less active in producing during the month, and traders refused to build large stockpiles. In the meantime, prices for steel pipe rose slightly in other Asian markets during the month. Insiders foresee a slight price decline for steel pipe next month.
