In April, Chinese copper cathode prices fluctuated down from RMB49,250/t (USD7,243/t) early this month to RMB48,900/t (USD7,191/t) late this month. As downstream clients replenished inventory due to the value-added tax rate reform and overdrafted the demand on copper cathode of April, transactions of copper cathode were weak in April. Chinese copper inventory declined. LME copper prices went down with fluctuation from USD6,491/t early this month to USD6,430/t late this month. LME copper inventory increased. US dollar index went up and Yuan-to-Dollar exchange rate fell.
