1. Market Highlights
Prices for welded pipe rose obviously in major Chinese domestic markets boosted by spirally upward price trend of raw materials, while those for seamless pipe failed to go up dragged by the weak downstream demand. Though the market performance improved during the month, it was far from satisfactory as end users were still inactive in placing orders. In the meantime, prices for steel pipe fluctuated frequently in other Asian markets. Considering the rigid demand is not so sufficient, insiders think that the price for steel pipe is powerless to go up in May.
