Supply of black silicon carbide in the Chinese market remained tight this month. Prices for black silicon carbide moved up in the first two weeks, and remained stable at high levels in the last two weeks. Tianzhu's large-scale production suspension in January resulted in holding stocks of downstream users and having a large number of signed orders, leading to tight market stocks. By mid-March, producers made signed orders delivered, while the downstream users were inactive in buying activities. In addition, the new orders were few, resulting in a slower pace of production and abundant spot. Prices for black silicon carbide lacked the momentum to rise and remained stable.
This month, supply of green silicon carbide in the Chinese market was still slightly tight and prices kept firm. Since only three domestic producers were producing and only two of them supplied to outside, supply of green silicon carbide natural lump was relatively tight, and producers were hard to hold stocks.
Export prices for Chinese silicon carbide moved up sharply this month, affected by domestic prices. Overseas customers were reluctant to accept high prices and inactive in buying activities, so export volume recovered slowly.
