1. Market Highlights
In March, prices of CRC and HGI coil did not show big changes in Chinese leading markets except that those of HGI in East China rebounded due to low inventory. The demand from downstream industries recovered slowly after the Chinese New Year but stocks in leading markets were not consumed as fast as expected, which restricted prices from moving up. In the international market, China's export prices for CRC and HGI coil continued to move up on steel mills' better expectation for the coming market. Those in other Asian countries like Vietnam increased on higher offers from the international market. As the supply for CRC and HGI coil will increase in April, when steel mills' production will be less restricted by the environmental protection inspection, insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil would come down slightly in April.
