1. Market Highlights
Prices for wire rod and rebar in Chinese leading markets did not show big changes in March. On the one hand, stocks kept running at high levels after the Chinese New Year, which restricted prices from moving up significantly; on the other hand, prices of raw materials stayed firm and helped to prevent wire rod and rebar prices from falling down. In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in many Asian countries such as Malaysia moved up slightly on steel mills' better expectation for the coming market. Steel mills began to resume normal production in March when the environmental protection inspection in heating season came to an end, while stocks were still consumed slowly, insiders think prices of wire rod and rebar in Chinese market will come down slightly in April.
