In February, Chinese copper prices went up by a large amount supported by the good news about the smooth progress in China-U
. S . trade talks. Copper prices increased from RMB47,780/t (USD7,116/t) in early February to RMB49,970/t (USD7,442/t) at the end of month, aiming for the level of RMB50,000/t (USD7,446/t) . However, as the demand has been slowly recovering after the Spring Festival holiday, the market witnessed limited transactions this month, with inventory mounting gradually. In addition, LME copper price rose from USD6,123/t to USD6,493/t and LME copper inventory declined . In February, the US dollar index movd up before dropping and the Yuan-to-Dollar exchange rate reached up to 6 . 6694.
