1. Market Highlights
In 2018, molybdenum prices in Chinese market witnessed two sharp increases and reached the highest level in recent decade. Due to sluggish international market, Chinese molybdenum products suffered difficulties in export. Besides, strong demand for stainless steel products in Chinese market gave efficient support to the uptrend of molybdenum prices, but the trend ended in early November. Due to sharp price drop of stainless steel products, prices for ferromolybdenum and molybdenum concentrate declined notably as well as those for molybdenum chemical products and molybdenum deep-processing products. In the last two months of 2018, molybdenum prices kept going down.
