Chinese stainless steel flat prices were generally stable during this month, while those of stainless steel long products saw an upward trend mainly supported by higher raw material costs. However, with the arrival of the Spring Festival, customers left the market for holiday in succession and the market sales performance was quite bad. Traders were not confident of the market outlook after the holiday and refused to build large stockpiles. Insiders think prices were likely to go up in February supported by the high purchase cost and low market inventory.
