Chinese stainless steel prices saw a downward trend during this month on customers' slow purchasing activities. Although October was the traditionally high season, customers without urgent need for materials were mostly holding a wait-and-see attitude and refusing to place orders. Because of the tight supply from steel mills and traders' unwillingness to build large stockpiles, the market inventory continued to be low. Insiders do not expect the market to recover in the coming month.
