Leading producers such as Baowu Group, Ansteel, Bengang Steel and HBIS announced the decision to maintain HRC list prices for November production flat rather than lift them as they did in past several months, indicating that producers were not so confident of the market prospect. Meanwhile, the downstream industry for flat steel such as auto and home-appliance ran slowly and the rigid demand remained insufficient. Besides, most end users were reluctant to place large orders and only purchased according to urgent needs seeing the downward price trend. Reporting limited sales volumes, traders were a little bit pessimistic about the market prospect and cautious about supplementing inventories, so the overall market inventory ran on a low level. Insiders think that the price for HRC is hard to rebound in November.
