Chinese zirconium market saw soft demand and limited transactions in September. Against the backdrop that major overseas zircon sand suppliers raised their prices, prices of South African and Mozambican zircon concentrate went up by 10% to USD21/mtu during the month, stimulating prices of Chinese zircon sand and its downstream products to keep firm. Most consumers refilled stocks from hand to mouth, reluctant to hold extra stocks and those who held large volumes of stocks delayed refilling stocks.
