Mainstream prices for Chinese germanium metal 99.99%min maintained the downward trend of July and continued to decline in August. The main reason for the decreasing prices was the weak demand from end consumers, which led to rare spot transactions and enquiries. However, producers intended to hold firm on prices supported by the tight supply of raw materials in the domestic market as import of scrap containing germanium was restricted.
