As producers competed in selling at lower prices, mainstream prices for Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min decreased slightly by RMB10/kg (USD1.46/kg) to RMB1,170-1,220/kg (USD171-179/kg) in early August and then kept stable in the middle of the month. During the traditional off-season for Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min in August, magnetic material users made purchases in small volume and those from gallium arsenide and Mo source industry built stocks via long-term orders, leaving inactive transactions. From late August, when the slack season came to an end, producers intended to take the chance to raise prices, and downstream consumers began to make purchases, and thus the market saw active enquires and transactions. European gallium metal 99.99%min market ran quietly in August with inactive enquires as it remained in the summer vacation.
