In July, the US dollar index remained high at 93.9-95.6 and the exchange rate of offshore RMB against US dollar kept rising and exceeded 6.85. Both LME and Chinese copper inventory decreased in the month. LME copper price dropped from USD6,590/t to USD6,236/t. Chinese copper price also went down compared with June, keeping below RMB50,000/t (USD7,299/t) throughout the month and dropped to as low as RMB48,000/t (USD7,007/t).
