1. Market Highlights
Though prices in the steel futures market as well as those of raw materials soared boosted by kinds of environmental protection policies during the month, prices for HRC in the spot market only increased slightly dragged by the slow market. On the one hand, the downstream demand shrank obviously influenced by continuous rains as well as the high temperature in the rainy season, while on the other hand, end users were inactive in building inventories and only purchased according to urgent needs, complaining unbelievable high prices. However, traders were reluctant to move down prices seeing high purchasing costs as well as low inventories. Insiders foresee a slight price rise in August.
