1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel plate kept fluctuating frequently in the first two weeks of the month, coupled with participants' wait-and-see attitudes, but they declined obviously from the third week of the month influenced by the escalation of trade war between United States and China. On the one hand, the rigid demand shrank obviously dragged by the high temperature and continuous rains, while on the other hand, frequent prices changes in the steel futures market and the uncertain macro environment heightened market participants' cautious attitudes. Boosted by considerable profits, most mills were producing actively during the month. Insiders foresee a further price decrease next month.
