Chinese stainless steel prices went up obviously during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills' list prices. Some steel mills reduced or stopped the production due to the facility maintenance and the supply for stainless steel was insufficient. However, as demand from customers did not become better amid the traditionally low season, the market sales performance continued to be bad. Traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles to avoid risks. Insiders think the market will keep quiet in the coming month.
