Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China went down further during this month because of weak customer demand, while those of grain oriented electrical steel were generally stable. Domestic steel mills such as Baosteel and WISCO kept their list prices of electrical steel stable for March production. Customers left the market for the Spring Festival holiday and the market sales performance remained bad. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders refused to build large stockpiles and the market inventory continued to be low. Insiders do not think the market will improve in March.
