Prices for steel pipe decreased nationwide during the month, dragged by the slow market as well as prices declines of raw materials. End users were inactive in placing orders and only purchased according to urgent needs seeing the downward price trend, leading to a dim market. Reporting unsatisfactory sales performances, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories, with wait-and-see attitudes. Insiders do not think the price for steel pipe could change much in February considering there will be few market transactions before the right after the Lunar New Year holiday (February 15-21).
